Mysore Market

Mysore is famed for its incense, but with only two days left before the Festival of Ganesha, shoppers crowded the narrow aisles of the central market in search of flowers to adorn the chubby, elephant-headed god and ingredients for making his favorite sweets. Across from them, the flower vendors wound their garlands into fragrant towers of blossoms, filling the air even more sweetly than the nearby incense.
